Thus far, men,
women, and children in the town of Akalivalasa have already left
their makeshift shelters of sticks, twigs, and tarps behind, thanks
to these lovely new homes, which were built through Amma's grace
and the kindness of compassionate donors.
By mid-June, unrelenting monsoons are expected to
begin in this region. This will be the first time in nearly a decade
that over 200 families-- some 1,000 people in all, will be properly
protected from the rain, floods, and wind in the villages of Valasa,
Akalivalasa, Obulaya palli, and Penubarthi. |
| "I am so grateful," a
young mother recently told us as tears spilled from her eyes. "My
family had lost everything, and we thought nobody cared, Thanks to
Amma, we know that isn't true. We now have a home, and I know, because
of this, that everything is going to be ok." |
