	MANHATTAN Community Church of New York   40 East 35th Street New York, NY 10016 The Community Church of New York is located at 40 East 35th Street between Park and Madison Avenues in mid-town Manhattan. The Hall of Worship and the rest of the main building are accessible for the disabled at the west (Madison Avenue) end of the building where there is an elevator for all levels. The church is two and one-half blocks from the Empire State Building and a short distance (seven blocks) from Grand Central Terminal. Public Transportation: The nearest subway station is the #6 at 33rd Street and Park Avenue, two and one-half blocks south of our buildings. The B, D, F, and R at 34th Street and 6th Avenue at Herald Square are three and one-half blocks from us. The #7 from Queens stops at Grand Central Terminal where one can change to the #6 or walk. The 1, 2, and 3 also stop a few blocks away. After getting off, transfer to the M34 or M16 crosstown and get off at Park Ave. Path Trains from NJ: Path trains from New Jersey also arrive in Herald Square at 33rd Street and 6th Avenue, just a few blocks away from the church. Exit at Kissena Blvd. (EXIT 24), and turn left onto Kissena Blvd. Travel approximately 1 mile, then turn right onto Holly Ave. Travel four blocks to Community Center entrance at the corner of Smart and Holly. Saraswati Hall, where the Retreat will be held, is across the street from the main temple on Bowne St. This is one block to the west of Smart Street. From Long Island: Take LONG ISLAND EXPRESSWAY (I-495 WEST). Exit at Kissena Blvd. (EXIT 24). At second traffic light turn right on Kissena Blvd. Once on Kissena Blvd. travel approximately 1 mile, then turn right onto Holly Ave. Proceed four blocks (see Manhattan). From New Jersey: Take the LINCOLN TUNNEL (I-495 EAST) to Manhattan. Take 34th St. across to the Eastside. Follow signs for the QUEENS-MIDTOWN TUNNEL (495 EAST). Follow directions above from Manhattan. From Upstate: Take NEW YORK STATE THRUWAY (I-87 SOUTH). After you cross Tappan Zee Bridge take EXIT 4 toward CROSS COUNTY PKWY / MILE SQUARE RD. Go 0.2 miles. Turn slight right onto Central Park Ave. Go 0.3 miles. Take the CROSS COUNTY PKWY EAST left ramp toward Bronx River Parkway. Take the HUTCHINSON PKWY SOUTH  (EXIT 9  toward WHITESTONE BR). The Hutch becomes  I-678 S. VAN WYCK EXPRESSWAY after crossing the Whitestone Bridge. Take EXIT 14 toward LINDEN PL. Stay straight and turn left onto Linden Pl. Turn left onto 35th Avenue 0.1 miles. Turn right onto Union Street 0.5 miles. Turn left onto Sanford Avenue 0.1 miles. Turn right onto Bowne Street 0.4 miles. Pass Temple on your left. Take left onto Holly.  Go one block to the Community Center entrance at the corner of Smart and Holly Sts. The Saraswati Hall where the Retreat will be held is across the street from the main entrance to the temple on Bowne Street. From other areas: Take any one of the highways most convenient to you - The Belt Parkway, Brooklyn-Queens Expressway or Grand Central Parkway - and then get on Long Island Expressway. From there, follow directions given above. Parking Limited street and temple parking is available.  There is a paid parking lot at Flushing Hospital Medical Center. It is two blocks from the temple on 45th St. and Smart St. or Parsons Blvd. and the temple has an arrangement with them for reasonable rates with a stamped ticket. PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION From Manhattan: take the IRT Flushing Line (No.7) from Times Square. Get off at last stop - Main Street, Flushing. Take Q27 bus from Main Street, which goes up Kissena Blvd., and turns left onto Holly Ave. Get off at the stop just before Bowne Street and you will see the Rajagopuram of the temple to your left. The bus ride is approximately five to ten minutes. The entrance to the Community Center is ahead of you at the next intersection with Smart Street. The Saraswati Hall where the Retreat will be held is across the street from the main entrance to the temple on Bowne Street. New York City Transit Schedule    Mapquest Directions: Hindu Temple Community Center HOMA Homa - Sacred Fire Ceremony 420 Saw Mill River Rd. Ardsley, NY 10502 Location is one half hour North of NYC in lower Westchester County. Everyone must park at this location and will be shuttled to the homa site. NOTE: Please arrive at this Parking Lot no later than 8 a.m. to allow time for everyone to arrive at the homa site on time. It is a different from the lot used last year and is 1.1 miles away from the homa site. The homa will be held outdoors so please bring blankets/sheets, umbrellas, etc. The parking lot is easily accessible from the Saw Mill Parkway, the Sprain Parkway and the NY Thruway I/87. No pre-registration is required to attend. For those who cannot attend but still wish to participate, there is on-line sponsorship registration on Amma’s website under US Homas.   By order of the Police Department of the Town of Hastings-on-Hudson, all cars MUST be parked in the designated parking lot which is just off the Saw Mill River Parkway. Please help us to have a peaceful Homa by following the instructions closely. PLEASE NOTE: A parking donation of $10 will be requested for each vehicle. Please bring change. The parking lot is 1.1 miles from the Homa and about twice the distance as the lot we used last year. We need volunteers to drive people from the lot to the Homa site. Please sign up for this seva at the Welcome Desk in Manhattan or Queens or simply come by 6.45 a.m. to the parking lot to help. DIRECTIONS: Public Transportation From MANHATTAN/NYC - Take the local train on the Metro North Hudson Line at 7.20 AM from GRAND CENTRAL STATION, arriving in HASTINGS-ON-HUDSON at 7.59 AM. Only one train per hour stops at Hastings-on-Hudson. Off peak fares are $13.00 round trip with discounts for seniors and children. The Hudson Line runs to the east of the Hudson River. A sign there will indicate the address of the Homa as well as directions to the venue. Driving Directions From Saw Mill Parkway going south: Turn Left on LAWRENCE STREET (Exit is on left at the traffic light and follows Dobbs Ferry/Ardsley exit). (0.2 miles) Turn Right on SAW MILL RIVER RD (Route 9A South) (0.2 miles) Turn Left into the Ardsley Park lot D which is on the south side of the office complex.  From Saw Mill River Parkway going north: Turn Right on LAWRENCE ST. (0.1 miles) Turn Right onto SAW MILL RIVER RD/route 9A South (0.2 miles) Turn Left into the Ardsley Park lot D which is on the south side of the office complex.  From George Washington Bridge: Take Henry Hudson Parkway North to SAW MILL PARKWAY/SAW MILL RIVER PARKWAY NORTH and then follow directions above. From Triboro Bridge: Take Major Deegan/NY Thruway/I-87 North. Take the exit for SAW MILL PARKWAY/SAW MILL RIVER PARKWAY NORTH and then follow directions above. From Tapan Zee Bridge: Take Major Deegan/NY Thruway/I-87 South to SAW MILL PARKWAY/SAW MILL RIVER PARKWAY SOUTH.. At this traffic light turn right on to SAW MILL RIVER RD/ROUTE 9A NORTH Very shortly - Turn Right into the Ardsley Park lot (1st entrance on the south side of the office complex).   From Sprain Brook Parkway going north: Take the JACKSON AVE exit and Turn Left on JACKSON AVE. After the first traffic light you will pass a cemetery to your right and at the end of the cemetery is a traffic light approx 2.0 mi. At this traffic light turn right on to SAW MILL RIVER RD/ROUTE 9A NORTH Very shortly - Turn Right into the Ardsley Park lot (1st entrance on the south side of the office complex).   From Long Island and the eastern part of Queens: Take Whitestone Bridge to HUTCHINSON RIVER PARKWAY NORTH Take CROSS COUNTY PKWY/SAW MILL PKWY exit towards YONKERS, Exit #13 Merge on to CROSS COUNTY PKWY WEST  Take the SAW MILL PKWY NORTH exit towards ALBANY.
