Guru Purnima Weekend Silent Meditation Retreat You are invited to join Amma for a very special meditation retreat in New York prior to the Guru Purnima celebration. This will provide an opportunity to set aside your day-to-day concerns, forgo ordinary conversations by maintaining silence, and dive deep into the ocean of the Self within - all in Amma's divine presence. Amma understands the many distractions and difficulties we sometimes face when we try to meditate. Accordingly, she has designed the retreats in a special way. As Amma says, “Silence is the language of God.” In this way, we receive the maximum spiritual benefit from the meditations, divine discourses, and chanting. As Amma teaches, it is only when we look within through meditation that we find the true presence of Divine Mother deep within our inner hearts. Chakra Cleaning Techniques During the retreat Amma will teach Chakra Cleansing practices previously only available to those who could travel to her ashram in India. Out of intense spiritual compassion, she is now bringing these powerful Chakra Cleansing practices to the United States. Shaktipat, Divine Radiance Transmission Amma will once again be giving Shaktipat transmision during this retreat. Amma will place her hand on each participant's head during meditation and transmit her divine radiance. Shaktipat is an extremely powerful spiritual gift to receive from Amma. It will help one's spiritual progress with an added boost, to awaken the Kundalini Shakti, which is the presence of the Divine Mother in the form of profound inner spiritual energy. Hotel Information NY Programs has picked three hotels close to the Ganesh Temple Guru Purnima venue. We have reserved a block of rooms – Friday, July 23 to Monday July 26 - that are located less than 2 miles from the Temple.

Transportation
TO AND FROM HOTEL TO VENUE
We will be using car services to shuttle us all back and forth between our hotels and the temple, both for the retreat and the Guru Purnima celebration.

(608) 213 7262. Susi will keep a list for all hotels for now. However, please follow the instructions below as well. There will be an information desk at the retreat for shuttle coordination. PLEASE BE IN THE LOBBY OF YOUR HOTEL AT 7.15 AM. We will use a combination of vans and cars with 4 or 7 to a van, depending on how many need rides. Please be prepared to pay your driver. CARRY SMALL BILLS! The cost per ride is likely to be up to approx. $5.00 per person - give or take a couple of $. There will be a travel desk set up at the Retreat site for further information on times of shuttles. Basically we will take you to the retreat in the morning on Sat., back to the hotel on Sat. p.m., to the retreat on Sunday morning, back to the hotel after lunch on Sun., and to and from the Guru Purnima celebration. It is best to take a taxi from JFK to the hotels. Public transportation: It is possible to get to Flushing Main St. subway station via Air Train and subway. This involves 2 changes. The subway station is 4 blocks from Lex. Marco Hotel and 6-7 blocksfrom Best Western. See directions below.
