| Amma presides over the sacred fire ceremony, with Swami Vijayeswarananda performing the ritual. He sits at the homa altar, and tends the fire with offerings of ghee, clarified butter. Into this fire are offered sacred materials that contain specific natural energies which are transformed by the flames and prayers. |

| Pictured below is the purnahuti, or final complete offering. The entire process takes about two hours, and is filled with warmth and divine cosmic energy. |

| Shown on the left is the altar of the Divine Mother, with a pile of chanting beads which will be distributed as sacred prasad to homa sponsors. Sponsorship is a powerful way to deepen one's energy exchange with the homa process. | Special mantras and mudras are performed during the homa. During the Khadga Mala Stotram, attendees make the lotus mudra, which channels energy into the chakra system and subtle spiritual body. |

| Amma applies raksha, the paste made from the sacred ashes, to the forehead of everyone at the end of the homa. This raksha is a protective force which grants peace and wellbeing.
