Lalita Sahasranama
(Vedic Chanting)

Lalita Sahasranama is a divinely revealed scripture containing the thousand names of the Divine Mother Sri Lalita Parameswari. This puja brings great blessings to
those who participate or simply attend. Everyone will
have the opportunity to chant and make offerings during
the puja. These offerings represent all our burdens and negativities, which we surrender to Divine Mother in
return for her auspicious blessings and grace.


Lalita Sahasranama with Amma
All forms of Divine Mother are within Lalita Devi. Her supreme inner beauty manifests as this universe with all its suns, moons, planets, and vast spiral galaxies. As Saraswati Devi, Mother bestows knowledge and wisdom of every kind. As Gayatri Devi, she illuminates the world like the sun. As Savitri Devi, she is the goddess of truth. As Durga, riding the lion of dharma, she establishes righteousness and destroys obstacles in her children's path. As Kali, she is the one who deftly removes the selfish ego. As Kundalini Sakti, she is the inner force of spiritual evolution within us. As sweet Lakshmi Devi, she is the bestower of auspiciousness and inner wealth. As the guru sakti, she is the faith and devotion in all seekers. As Maha Maya, she is the illusion that causes us to forget her, and as Jnana Sakti, she is the liberating force of wisdom that allows us to recognize her everywhere. Amma presides over the puja, while a Vedic priest leads the chanting. Devotees concentrate on the sacred vibrations of the mantras, which describe the glory of the Divine Mother in sacred 1000 Names.


After the puja, Amma gives a divine discourse, and blesses the attendees.



Guidelines for All Programs

  • Please wear clean, modest attire that covers the knees and shoulders.
  • Chairs are also provided, but it's best to bring a pillow or blanket if you plan on sitting on the floor.
  • Please turn all beepers and cell phones off or to blink/vibrate mode so that others are not disturbed.
  • Please do not take photos without special permission beforehand. Video and audio-taping are not permitted.
